ISO 80369-7: Intravascular/Hypodermic Connector (luer) Devices

ISO 80369-7

Intravascular/Hypodermic Connector (luer) Devices

Intravascular or hypodermic devices, such as arterial or intravenous (IV) lines which are generally used to deliver medications or fluids through a patient’s neck, chest or veins in the arms. ISO/FDIS 80369-7, is being finalized and will provide manufacturers with specifications for intravenous and hypodermic applications.

IVfit is designed to ensure that intravascular device connectors are incompatible with the connectors for unrelated delivery systems such as neuraxial, enteral, breathing devices. Misconnections involving such medical devices are relatively more compared with the number of patients needing other tubes hence such misconnections have deadly consequences when they do occur.

Medzus Medical is committed to the prevention of misconnections and actively supports the ongoing worldwide patient safety initiatives dedicated to reducing tubing misconnections by supplying following ISO 80369-7 compliance devices.
